The recommended daily intake of purines is approximately 400 mg, but katsuobushi contains about 5 mg of purines per gram, which equates to approximately 80 grams when calculated solely based on katsuobushi. (A small pack of katsuobushi is approximately 5 grams, so this equates to about 16 small packs.)
Additionally, the recommended daily sodium intake is 8 g for adult men and 7 g for adult women. However, 1 g of katsuobushi contains approximately 0.012 g of sodium. Calculating based on 7 g, this would equate to approximately 80 g of katsuobushi, or approximately 583 g when converted to small packs (each small pack contains approximately 5 g, so this would equate to approximately 116 small packs!). Even if you eat a little more than that, it’s still within a safe range.
